Stretch marks are common in women after pregnancy and are very common in areas that accumulate fat such as breasts, hips, arms, abdomen, buttocks and thighs. How to get rid of stretch marks after pregnancy when you have not had the chance to avoid them during the pregnancy.

The truth is you won’t be able to get rid of them completely, but they will fade over time.

You can try some natural and effective remedies to reduce postpartum stretch marks. But you need to be very patient while you carry out one of these treatments.

Natural Methods against stretch marks

They are not expensive and you can find ingredients at home.

1) Scrub exfoliating

Before using any of these following natural methods you have to apply a scrub regularly, thus the skin will be exfoliated and released from dead cells.

Doing this, pores are tightened, imperfections are reduced, the skin texture is thinner, firm, smooth and soft to the touch and the complexion is more radiant.

Once removing dead cells from the skin, the skin is also more receptive to the various creams and treatments applied later and intended to treat it. You can use whatever scrub brand to do so, or try a homemade scrub. To make your homemade scrub, you can mix sugar with olive oil.

2) Oil treatment

The oils make the skin smooth and help reduce stretch marks. Some oils used against the stretch marks are: coconut oil, olive oil, vitamin E oil and castor oil.

– Take oil into your palms and gently massage the stretch marks area.

– Let stand for 30 minutes so that the vitamins contained in the oil are absorbed by the skin.

– Take a bath after the massage or prepare a mixture of olive oil, water and vinegar, and apply the night.

Castor oil works best on stretch marks, massage the area gently into circular motion for about five to ten minutes. Use a plastic bag to cover the area, roll a bottle of hot water on it for about 30 to 40 minutes. The heat opens the pores of the body and the oil is absorbed into the pores Clean the area and repeat daily for at least a month to see good results.

3) Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera soothes your skin and has healing abilities. Use a fresh gel (extracted by yourself) rather than the one available on the market. Rub it directly on the skin, leave on affected areas for 15 minutes and rinse with warm water. You can also prepare a mixture of a quarter cup of aloe Vera gel with the oil of five vitamin A capsules and ten of vitamin E. Rub it on the skin until it is completely absorbed twice a day.

4) Honey

Honey has very good cleaning properties and also acts to reduce stretch marks.

– Take a small cloth and apply honey on it.

– Place it on the affected area and let it stay until it becomes dry.

– Rinse with warm water.

Or you can prepare a honey scrub by mixing it with salt and glycerin. Apply on stretch marks, allow drying and rinse with water.

5) Egg white

Egg white is rich in protein, which helps refresh and rebuild the skin.

Beat two egg whites with a fork; clean the affected area with water and apply a thick layer of egg white using a makeup brush.

Leave drying and rinse with cold water. Then you can apply olive oil to keep the skin soft and hydrated.

Repeat every day for at least two weeks. It helps improve your complexion, and the marks disappear slowly but surely.

6) Shea butter

Shea or cocoa butter can be used as an oil treatment. They are also the main ingredients found in most body lotions.

Apply Shea butter or cocoa on stretch marks regularly. Rinse the area after a while. This remedy improves the elasticity of the skin, prevents dryness and reduces stretch marks.

7) Water

Drink at least 10 to 12 glasses of water each day to keep your skin hydrated and protected from toxins. It keeps your skin supple and restores its elasticity.

Try to avoid tea, coffee and soft drinks as they are desiccants.

8) Lemon juice

Rub the fresh lemon juice over the affected area and leave it on for about 10 minutes so that the juice gets into your skin. Rinse with warm water and be sure to apply daily for best results.

9) Potato sap

The potato contains chemicals that improve the texture of the skin.

Cut a potato in half and rub half on the stretch marks. Let the juice penetrate the skin and let it dry. Then rinse the area with lukewarm water. Sit back and watch the changes in the coming months

10) Special Composition

A special composition. Two teaspoons of a mixed red onion. A teaspoon of Vaseline. A teaspoon of some toothpaste. Mix all this and apply in 5 minutes massage. Let stand for another five minutes. Repeat this treatment three times a week for at least three months.

Conclusion

Stretch marks don’t appear suddenly. It takes long time for a stretch mark to develop and to become noticeable on the skin. It is reasonable to think that to disappear it will need at least the same time; but no, stretch marks take longer to disappear than to appear. That’s why each of these above methods has to be followed with courage and patience. Each of these methods will need at least three months of treatment to see a noticeable change. Some people can see a result earlier depending of their skin type, and others can see later. Whatever side you are in, you should not be discouraged until you get satisfactory results. You can extend your treatment for more than three months as i have done in the past to get rid of my stretchmarks. To make disappear my horrible stretch marks, I’ve had several years of treatments but now I’m happy of results.
