Stretch marks from losing weight

Many people are not aware that lose weight can cause stretch marks because they are just focus on flabby skin I think this is bad news for them, unfortunately when you lose weight fast you can get stretch marks. If you intend lost weight and avoid stretch marks keep reading this article and you will learn how to prevent stretch marks when losing weight.

Even before doing a diet it is important to know how to avoid stretch marks and even flabby skin that comes from an important weight loss. Avoid flabby skin and stretch marks there are a number of things to do and not to do, that’s what we going to see in this article.

1 Lose weight slowly

Whatever type of skin you have if you lose weight fast you would get flabby skin and you can get stretch marks as well because the sudden change of the weight don’t give enough time to the skin to retract naturally causing a surplus of skin that falls.

You have to lose weight slowly and healthy. What you want to do in this case you would want to lose 2 lb per week to do so you would better choose a diet that should make you lose weight slowly than a diet that make you lose weight fast. Regardless of diet you will choose this may include fruits and vegetables they help the skin to keep its elasticity.

2 Keep your skin moisturized during diet

A hydrated skin has a beautiful and a healthy appearance. By moisturizing your skin you avoid having a dry skin like crocodile skin. Such skin cracks quickly to reveal stretch marks. You will want to keep your skin very moisturized while you are on diet to avoid Stretch marks and even flabby skin. To do so, you have to drink two liters of water in a day.

On the other hand, you must apply a moisturizing cream that is adapted to your skin type every day after your bath. Make sure there is still some water on your body when applying the cream. This rest of water will be like trapped by the cream and will optimize your body hydration.

You better choose a body cream enriched with the A or E vitamin

3 Keep your skin tonic with the help of the sport

Everyone is well aware that losing weight makes the skin fall. Why the skin fall? because when losing weight the fat will melt to leave a gap between the muscle and the skin. The skin retracting very slowly will not be able to recover quickly. This is why it is advisable to lose weight slowly in order to allow time for the skin to retract as one loses fat.

Unfortunately, this is not the only drawback because stretch marks can also be at the rendezvous. While you lose weight, your body produces hormones that disrupt the collagen production of your skin. This disturbance can lead to the formation of stretch marks.

To lose weight while avoiding these annoyances, one should practice physical exercises whose purpose is to tone the skin such as abdominal muscles, bodybuilding and stepping. It is important to practice these different physical activities while targeting the areas at risk of stretch marks like the arms, the belly, the hips, the buttocks and the back of the knees.

It is advisable to practice these activities fairly regularly, that means about eight hours a week for the results to be satisfactory.

4 Regularly exfoliate your skin during the diet to maintain its elasticity

Getting rid of dead and dry skin is a way to send a signal to your skin and ask it to produce new cells. In this way, you will limit the sagging of the skin and you will strengthen its elasticity. And that says elasticity of the skin says no stretch marks. The exfoliation allows the skin to renew itself.

To do this, you must regularly apply a scrub of your choice, it can also be homemade made from natural ingredients that you have in your kitchen. The exfoliation allows the skin to renew itself. Of course remember to hydrate after such a process.

5 Avoid free radicals and toxins that can damage the skin

Avoid using creams or treatments that contain ingredients such as sulfates or hydroquinone that are harmful and can damage the elasticity of your skin.

If you go to the pool to swim to lose weight, rinse properly after your swim. Indeed, chlorine is much too aggressive for the cells of your tissues.

Protect your skin against harmful UV that can cause great damage to skin cells.

6 The importance of sleep

You wonder what sleep is doing in this list of things that help prevent stretch marks during a slimming period. Well what you need to know is that during sleep the cells of the skin double their regeneration of new cells.

So be sure to get a good night’s sleep during your period of regime to help your skin to recover and avoid the appearance of stretch marks or even to have a skin that falls.

7 Take vitamins

Vitamins are necessary to keep fit during a diet but they are just as much to promote better skin repair. Vitamin C and some antioxidants promote the production of elastin and collagen, which is the most important protein to avoid having stretch marks. Having a good diet rich in vitamins and protein is essential during weight loss, it is also essential to maintain a firm and elastic skin.

For example, you can eat fruits rich in vitamin C such as oranges or meat that is rich in gelatin such as tail or legs of beef or bone broth (chicken, pork, beef …).

In addition to vitamin C, vitamin E applied to the skin helps to increase the level of nutrients in the epidermis. It also helps regenerate skin tissue cells faster and lighten stretch marks, just like scars. It will be enough to apply vitamin E oil directly to the area to be treated, and this on a regular basis to see results after a few weeks.

Wow! I always thought that the stretch marks were made by getting fat! I guess I already blew it because I had weight loss surgery and I lost 120 pounds in about 8 months.

I’ve got a lot of stretch marks!
I’ve begun to exercise regularly and that has tightened up in a few places, even a few places that I wouldn’t have expected, so I am going to keep doing that.
Now, I am going to add a couple of things to my skin treatment as I still have about 30 pounds to lose.
Is there anything that I can do for stretch marks that I already have?
I am grateful for your awesome advice in this article!

    Hi John

Before say thanks for your comment i want to congrat you for your important weight loss this is very amazing. You know stretch mark doesn’t appear in one day that’s why it won’t disappear in one day as well. It takes time to make them become less noticeable (invisible)as they will never disapear unfortunately. Yes you have to treat them everyday with oil and cream for a best result. My baby is 8 months and i’m still using stretch marks creams.
Maybe i can write an article on how to get rid of these horrible scars.

These tips are amazing, and I am so happy I found your website. My friend experienced all the the problems you outline in your article. If she had only read this before she lost the weight, she wouldn’t have had the terrible problems she has now. Losing slow is probably the hardest thing, because once you start losing, it’s exciting. You get on a good track, you start eating right, and the weight falls off. I have a few friends who are severely overweight and losing, so I am going to direct them here.

So I’m looking to put on weight as I’m bulking up in the gym which is obviously the opposite of what the post is about. However, I found this post really useful as I think I’ve read that I could get stretch marks if I gain weight too quickly without the right diet as well? I didn’t know much about exfoliating the skin so this post has definitely taught me something!
